Modern or Marginal Status?...

I do not think that storytellers have marginal status in our society today. I just think that he doesnt know what is modern in modern society (if that makes since). There is alot of storytellers in our societies, like poets, spokenword artist and people that participate in plays. There are many places for those people who have the talent of storytelling. It can become a perminant job if wanted.

Part One of Balzac and the Little Chinese Seamstress

When I first started reading the book, it was difficult for me to understand what was going on. I would like to know exactly were they are and why. I do know the two main charaters are the narrator and Lou. They are two boys that come from good families, and are bestfriends. What I didn't catch from the book was why they are considerd lower class or peseants. There is so much detail and imagery its kind of hard to keep up with it.
My favorite part in the book so far, is when they set the clock backward or forward depending on how they feel. It was funny and clever, "Lou had a brainstorm: with his finger he slid the hands of the clock back by an hour...In the end we had changed the position of the hands so many times that we had no idea what the time really was"(15).

King of Mask

I didn't get to see too much of the movie, but from what I did se was interesting. The culture was different, they value life a lot to me it seems. The area were they lives was also different from my homeland. It had a lot of shops and venders along roads, also street peformers. They main character of the movie is a street performer, he has a little girl help him. She goes were ever he goes, she is also very, very flexible. I liked the movie from what I saw.
